Gravity Slope Colliery Subsidence

We first saw this subsidence on the news then in the local paper. We deceided to check it out for ourselves because of its location to the tracks. This is the second time this sinkhole opened in the outcrop of coal here. This time it was sealed with concrete and covered with dirt. Finally the tracks were reballasted.

This subsidence was in the parking lot of Marywood University.
