The New York, Ontario and Western rail yard is located in Mayfield, PA. This was the last large yard before the end of the line in Scranton. There were a few railcars still in the woods that used to be the yards. These cars included a few boxcars and some passenger coaches. The yards were also a final resting place for the remains of one of the breakers located in Carbondale or Mayfield. There was a pile of mine cars and locomotives, and we were lucky enough to save a few of the cars just before scrapping.
