St Nicholas Powerhouse

The powerhouse for the St. Nick Breaker was just like the one for any breaker. There was a steam turbine, generator and boilers. The rotator building was there and the pit below is full of water, as is the conveyer that goes under it and takes the coal to the top of the breaker for processing. There was a long building after the powerhouse but before the rotator used for thawing out frozen railroad hoppers going to the rotator. There was a large blower inside that was used to blow hot air into the ceiling and down on the exposed coal in the cars.
